Welcome to the Team!
Getting Started as a Career Recognition Ambassador
You’re officially part of the Women’s Manufacturing Network (WMN)—a national, volunteer-led movement to increase visibility for women in the manufacturing industry.

As a Career Recognition Ambassador (CRA), you’re stepping into a role that’s all about spotlighting the people and careers that keep this industry moving—and helping make sure their stories get the recognition they deserve.

This page walks you through everything you need to do to start strong, connect with participants, and lead your WMN spotlight series with confidence.
Step 1: Announce Your Role on LinkedIn
Let your network know you’ve joined WMN and are helping spotlight the voices of women in manufacturing. This gives you a meaningful reason to connect with others and start building visibility for your series—and for yourself.
Update your LinkedIn profile:
Headline: Career Recognition Ambassador at Women’s Manufacturing Network
Experience section: Career Recognition Ambassador at Women’s Manufacturing Network
Example LinkedIn Post:

I’m excited to share that I’ve joined the Women’s Manufacturing Network as a Career Recognition Ambassador!
I’ll be leading the “[Your Series Name]” spotlight series—recognizing the women, careers, and companies driving manufacturing forward.
Know someone in the industry whose story deserves to be told? I’d love to feature them.
Follow @Women’s Manufacturing Network to see the stories we’re sharing. Let’s bring more visibility to women in manufacturing—together.
Step 2: Invite People to Be Featured
This role is about human connection. Start by inviting women in your network—or leaders at companies you admire—to be featured in your spotlight series.

You’ll be provided with message templates you can personalize for outreach via LinkedIn, email, or direct message.

Most people are flattered to be invited—especially when they learn it’s part of a national movement to uplift women in the industry.
Step 3: Gather Their Story
We make this part easy.

You’ll use a simple questionnaire to guide the conversation or send it to the participant to complete. You can co-write the spotlight based on their answers, or submit their responses as-is with light edits. It would be good to include a photo

You’re not expected to be a professional writer. Your role is to facilitate the spotlight—not produce it.

Once complete, you’ll submit the story to us via email. We will publish it on our website and credit you for it.
Step 4: Share Your Work On Social Media
This is the fun part! This is where you get to share your content on LinkedIn and other social sites that you frequent.

-
Go to the WMN's LinkedIn Page and create a post as an admin.
-
In the post, talk about the person you interviewed and share a link to their article on our website. This post will be seen by the WMN's followers.
-
From your own LinkedIn account, share the post above so that your own network can see it.
-
The WMN's network of volunteers will also engage with and share your posts to give it more visibility.
-
Share the link to the article anywhere else online that you think is helpful.

Tip: When creating a post on LinkedIn, tag the people that are mentioned, or other volunteers who are likely to engage with your post.
Step 5: Support Other Volunteers
We grow best when we support each other.
